As part of the design of Scott Hall, OFFICE 52 worked closely with Carnegie Mellon’s Office of Institutional Advancement to develop a program to recognize project donors and their stories in the building. In some cases, the required working directly with donors or their representatives. OFFICE 52 developed the overall program for the donor recognition program and specific designs, graphics and display assemblies. Installations ranged from small plaques for individual spaces to full exhibition quality displays including the permanent exhibit of Arthur Ruge’s original prototypes for the Strain Gage. OFFICE 52 was also responsible for the selection of typeface, layout and fabrication of exterior building name signage.
